Welcome! ~ Velkommen!
Here, in my little corner of bloglandia, is my blog about my crafts. Until recentley I've blogged about my card making. Now, in 2011, I'll try to do different things also, such as sewing (patchwork), knitting, crochet, baking, along with some card making...

Advent and a Christmas Card

It's the first Sunday of the Advent, and I've put some lights up in our windows, here's a picture of the star in our livingroom. I took a blurry picture just to see if I was able to get this cool effect...

Now over to my card, I always look for fun ways to make use of my darling punches, so when I stumbeled over a Christmas tree card in this inspiring blog Stamp Crazy Girl, I just had to make a card right away! I even made my own dotted background paper. :o)

Friday Sketchers # 80 ~ Pure of Heart

Welcome to a new Friday Sketchers challenge! We have such a fun sketch this week made by our wonderful Tanja, I loved making my card using this sketch!

The image is lovely Pure of Heart by Sugar Nellie, one of the three fundraiser stamps they made. I love that they did this for charity!
Smiley from millan.net

I colored with Prismacolor pencils, put lots of glitter on this card, but it's not easy to capture in a photo... I put pink Distress Stickles on the edge of the pink dp and then spinkled glitter on it.

I hope you'll take a look at the wonderful cards made by my DT sisters over at the Friday Sketchers blog, and that you'll find inspiration to make a card and take part in the challenge, there's a great prize to win sponsored by Magnolia-licious.

Wish you all a fabulous weekend!

Santa Snowman

I love my Whipper Snapper stamps, it's easy to see why, right? He's so cute!
For this card I dug out a tool that's seldom used these days, at least by me, decorative scissors. I like the white borders they made on my card.

TIOT # 45 ~ Buttons

For this week's TIOT we are to use buttons on our cards. I love buttons, so this was right up my alley!
I've used the wonderful image Cherry Blossom from the Sampler Edition #2 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, colored with Prismacolor pencils. It's extra fun to use buttons when you have coordinated patterned papers and buttons! Here I've used a sheet from the BasicGrey Indian Summer pad, and buttons to go with it. (These buttons are now on sale in Susana's shop!)
I used Scrapper's Floss on the buttons, I colored a piece of white with a green ProMarker.

I have a 'thing' with buttons, I can never put them on a card without a thread or a ribbon through them, it feels unfinished. I have the same 'thing' with flowers, I always have to embellish the center in some way. If I put a button or a flower on a card with out these additions, then there's something very wrong with me! *LOL* Smiley from millan.net Do you have any 'funny obsessions' like these? I'd love to know! Oh, I have one more, I have to ink on the edge of papers and die cuts, sometimes (almost never) it looks better without the inking, but it's sooooo hard not to do it!!! Smiley from millan.net *LOL* Please note, that this is how I feel about my own cards, when I see cards made by other card makers, I do not have the same feelings and thoughts. Smiley from millan.net I'm weird, yes, I know...

On the company blog Follow Your Heart you can see all the wonderful cards by the rest of the DT ladies!

TIOT # 43 ~ Winter

It's a fabulous new Tuesday and the DT challenge at SCACD today is to create a scene for one of the images in the Victoria Case for SCACD Winter Wonderland collection!
I decided to use the cute stamp called Winter, and wanted to do some paper piecing to make a nice scenery, but it just wouldn't look like I wanted it to. So I decided to make a drawing in stead, first I stamped the image, and then I drew around it, then colored with my Prismacolor pencils. I put Crushed Velvet Flock on her collar, (it's now on sale at Susana's store!) The sentiment is a Susanament from the Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.

On the company blog Follow Your Heart you can see all the wonderful cards by the rest of the DT ladies!

On Thursday 12th you will get to see the brand new images that Elisabeth Bell has designed for SCACD! We're having a fun blog hop to showcase the fabulous new stamps!

And right now there's a great blog candy over at the store blog Follow Your Heart, check it out!

Holiday Penguin

First I'd like to give a big, warm hug to all of my visitors! So glad to have you stopping by, thanks a bunch!
Smiley from millan.net

Today I made a card with one of my favorite stamps, Holiday Penguin by Whipper Snapper Designs, he's just too cute!

When I was making this card I got to thinking; where would our card making hobby be without all the wonderful cutting devices that are available to us? On this card I used five different ones, QuicKutz leaves, Martha Stewart snowflake, Nellie Snellen flower, Cuttlebug border and Nestabilites label (cutting out the image), including my Fiskars paper cutter, it makes six.

When I look back at the cards I made in the beginning of my "card making career" - I like to think I have developed my skills, and of course I have, but without all these nice tools, my cards would have been pretty plain and dull, I think...

Have a wonderful Sunday now! Smiley from millan.net

PS!
For all you Elisabeth Bell lovers, there will be a new release
of fabulous fresh images

at the SCACD store this upcoming week!

TIOT on a Friday!

TIOT (Try It Out Tuesday) on a Friday! We were to make a card using the fab sketch provided by Suzanne, fun to do!
I used the cute Skater from the Victoria Case for SCACD - Winter Wonderland Collection, colored with Prismacolor pencils and cut out with Nestabilities dies. The sentiment is by Whipper Snapper Designs, and the swirl stamp is by Stempelglede.

On the company blog Follow Your Heart you can see all the wonderful cards by the rest of the DT ladies!

This is my second post for today - yes, I know, it's not 'normal' procedure for me!
Please scroll down a bit to see my DT card for the Friday Sketchers blog.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend everyone!

If you look closely on my card, you can see that I have played with my newest 'toys', floral punches with embossing 'punches' from Nellie Snellen. It's so much fun to see how the flowers turn out using these, it depends on the paper if they show a good embossing or not.
