On today's TIOT challenge for the
SCACD DT we were to make a box of some sort to wrap a little something in. I found this great tutorial on
Create Studio blog, and made some boxes.
I made one following the directions, and one almost as described, only a bit smaller (took off 1 inch on all messurements.)
Then I had to try out an idea I got, I wanted to make a larger box using a
Nestabilities die, label 6. I cut four half way (I just put the embossingmat under one side of the die to prevent cutting the whole label.) Then I cut two squares of green cardstock for the bottom of the box, one on the inside and one under the box, adhered the 4 sides to one square, then adhered the other square on the oposite side.
The image I used on the tag is fabulous
Snow Fun from
the Winter Wonderland Collection designed by Victoria Case for SCACD. Colored with Prismacolor Pencils, cut out with
Nestabilities die label 8.The back side of the largest box:
Opened, I put some chocolate hearts inside
The two smaller boxes opened, a waterglobe with an angel in one of them,
and a tiny glass ornament angel in the other one.
I think they look best with papers that have pattern on both sides.
I just noticed, as I was typing my post, that
Sarah at the Create Studio blog posted a link to a PDF pattern of the Petal Pocket box!
