Welcome! ~ Velkommen!
Here, in my little corner of bloglandia, is my blog about my crafts. Until recentley I've blogged about my card making. Now, in 2011, I'll try to do different things also, such as sewing (patchwork), knitting, crochet, baking, along with some card making...

Friday Sketchers # 83 ~ SCACD

Time for a new sketch at the Friday Sketchers blog, and this week it's a sketch made by me!
I've used the sweet image BFF'S from the WinterWonderland Collection designed by Victoria Case for SCACD, colored with my Prisma Color Pencils.
I've used sequins to embellish my card, it's not often I pull out those 'old timers'! *LOL* I put Kaisecraft Rhinestones in the centers. The fun background paper with pine trees is from the BasicGrey pad Eskimo Kisses, right now on sale at Susana's!
The beautiful flower is a gift from my DT sister Claudia, thanks a bunch, sweetie! The sentiment is in Norwegian and says Merry Christmas.

Take a look at the wonderful cards made by my DT sisters over at the Friday Sketchers blog, hope you'll find inspiration to make a card and take part in the challenge, there's a great prize to win sponsored by Inktegrity Digital Images.

Also check out the blogs of the rest of the DT girls:

If you like the stamps (and other fun stuff) from Susana's shop SCACD, you should know that it's closed from December 23rd thru January 1st 2010. On the 2nd you can put thingies in the carts again. You can go window shopping during the Holidays, there's just no carts to put items in.

This is my last card for 2009, I'm going to have a busy Holiday season with lots of working days, 'so is the life of a nurse'... *LOL*

I'd like to wish all of my bloggin' friends and visitors
a very Merry Christmas,

hope to see you all again in 2010!

TIOT # 47 ~ Fold It!

Hi there! A new Tuesday and a new challenge for the SCACD DT members, today we were to make a card using some kind of fancy folding! I went searching on the net and found a tutorial for this fun card, click here to see it.

I stamped the wonderful shopping girl Fashionista from the Sampler Edition #2 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Other things I've used are Spellbinder Nestabilities, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Prima Jewellery, Petaloo Flower, leaf punch and ribbon.

On the company blog Follow Your Heart you can see all the wonderful projects by the rest of the DT ladies!

If you're looking for nice offers you should check out the Specials section of Susana's shop!
Right now you can find selected Spellbinders on sale!
There's also always lots of new fun stuff to find at the shop, check out these
fabulous Bella Baubles mixes! Perfect embellies for any project!

In the video tutorial she says to score at 3", but I found that the square will be slightly off center if I do that, so I scored at 3 1/4", and then it looks OK! I made a scoring template if you like to try to make this fun card. You should watch the video first, then you'll understand my template better...
(Just a short note before you start, the size of the paper is 11" x 11")

TIOT # 46 ~ Easy Gift Box

On today's TIOT challenge for the SCACD DT we were to make a box of some sort to wrap a little something in. I found this great tutorial on Create Studio blog, and made some boxes.
I made one following the directions, and one almost as described, only a bit smaller (took off 1 inch on all messurements.)

Then I had to try out an idea I got, I wanted to make a larger box using a Nestabilities die, label 6. I cut four half way (I just put the embossingmat under one side of the die to prevent cutting the whole label.) Then I cut two squares of green cardstock for the bottom of the box, one on the inside and one under the box, adhered the 4 sides to one square, then adhered the other square on the oposite side.

The image I used on the tag is fabulous Snow Fun from the Winter Wonderland Collection designed by Victoria Case for SCACD. Colored with Prismacolor Pencils, cut out with Nestabilities die label 8.

The back side of the largest box:

Opened, I put some chocolate hearts inside

The two smaller boxes opened, a waterglobe with an angel in one of them,
and a tiny glass ornament angel in the other one.
I think they look best with papers that have pattern on both sides.

I just noticed, as I was typing my post, that Sarah at the Create Studio blog posted a link to a PDF pattern of the Petal Pocket box!

Advent and a Christmas Card

It's the first Sunday of the Advent, and I've put some lights up in our windows, here's a picture of the star in our livingroom. I took a blurry picture just to see if I was able to get this cool effect...

Now over to my card, I always look for fun ways to make use of my darling punches, so when I stumbeled over a Christmas tree card in this inspiring blog Stamp Crazy Girl, I just had to make a card right away! I even made my own dotted background paper. :o)

Friday Sketchers # 80 ~ Pure of Heart

Welcome to a new Friday Sketchers challenge! We have such a fun sketch this week made by our wonderful Tanja, I loved making my card using this sketch!

The image is lovely Pure of Heart by Sugar Nellie, one of the three fundraiser stamps they made. I love that they did this for charity!
Smiley from millan.net

I colored with Prismacolor pencils, put lots of glitter on this card, but it's not easy to capture in a photo... I put pink Distress Stickles on the edge of the pink dp and then spinkled glitter on it.

I hope you'll take a look at the wonderful cards made by my DT sisters over at the Friday Sketchers blog, and that you'll find inspiration to make a card and take part in the challenge, there's a great prize to win sponsored by Magnolia-licious.

Wish you all a fabulous weekend!

Santa Snowman

I love my Whipper Snapper stamps, it's easy to see why, right? He's so cute!
For this card I dug out a tool that's seldom used these days, at least by me, decorative scissors. I like the white borders they made on my card.

TIOT # 45 ~ Buttons

For this week's TIOT we are to use buttons on our cards. I love buttons, so this was right up my alley!
I've used the wonderful image Cherry Blossom from the Sampler Edition #2 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, colored with Prismacolor pencils. It's extra fun to use buttons when you have coordinated patterned papers and buttons! Here I've used a sheet from the BasicGrey Indian Summer pad, and buttons to go with it. (These buttons are now on sale in Susana's shop!)
I used Scrapper's Floss on the buttons, I colored a piece of white with a green ProMarker.

I have a 'thing' with buttons, I can never put them on a card without a thread or a ribbon through them, it feels unfinished. I have the same 'thing' with flowers, I always have to embellish the center in some way. If I put a button or a flower on a card with out these additions, then there's something very wrong with me! *LOL* Smiley from millan.net Do you have any 'funny obsessions' like these? I'd love to know! Oh, I have one more, I have to ink on the edge of papers and die cuts, sometimes (almost never) it looks better without the inking, but it's sooooo hard not to do it!!! Smiley from millan.net *LOL* Please note, that this is how I feel about my own cards, when I see cards made by other card makers, I do not have the same feelings and thoughts. Smiley from millan.net I'm weird, yes, I know...
