Welcome! ~ Velkommen!
Here, in my little corner of bloglandia, is my blog about my crafts. Until recentley I've blogged about my card making. Now, in 2011, I'll try to do different things also, such as sewing (patchwork), knitting, crochet, baking, along with some card making...

TIOT # 32 ~ Back to School

A fun challenge this week at SCACD; make a teacher or a student gift. I came up with this pencil holder, an altered can, bean sprout can to be specific, it has a good size for this purpose. I'm always thinking of my self as a card maker, but it's fun to do something else, to go outside my comfort zone. On this project I even got to use eyelets, that's a rare thing to do these days!

The stamp I used is the sweet and cool lady owls on a branch from the QT Hooty Owl stamp set by Pink Cat Studio from SCACD. Colored with my Prismacolor pencils. I put Kaisercraft Rhinestones on the flowers on their hats, punched some leaves to make their branch a nicer place to be....

I'll give this holder to one of my nieces, she starts her second year in college these days. She's into environmental stuff, so recycling is something she likes. The brown paper I used is from the Green Stack, a paper pad by DCWV - recycled papers, and the bean sprout can has now started a new life as a pencil holder - a nice gift for her!

♥

I painted on the inside of the can.

♥

I made faux seams, very easy and quick to do
with a ruler and a tracing wheel at hand!

Blog Hop ~ I Brake For Stamps

This blog hop is a shout-out & Thank You to Della of I Brake For Stamps (IBFS) who is a huge behind the scenes helper for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design - she makes all the stamps!
All the DT's blogs feature a different project featuring a stamp from Della's store, so make sure and hop all the way through the end.

For one lucky HOPPER there will be a prize, but you have to leave a comment on every blog in order for a chance to win - also at the store blog - there will be a question for you to answer! The lucky winner will be picked randomly from comments left on one of the DT's blogs - but it's a MYSTERY which blog it will be!
The prize up for grabs is a brand new Ranger Heat Gun - it heats quickly & does NOT blow your embossing powder around - it's FANTASTIC - and 4 IBFS stamps!

There's even more:
Della at I Brake For Stamps is generously offering 15% off all purchases at her store, expires the 16th. The coupon code is BLOGHOP and it's for IBFS store ONLY! ***(NOT at SCACD!)***
Only 4 days to use it so whatcha waiting for!!!

Now go get hoppin'!! The first blog on this blog hop is Suzanne's.

When I was asked to go to Della's fabulous store to choose a stamp to use on my card for this blog hop, I really got excited! And - WOW - it was not an easy task to pick just one, there are so many wonderful stamps to look at! Finally I ended up with this little darling, #RBG130 Girl Praying. This image is also to be found at a stamp sheet along with a little praying boy and sentiments, click HERE to see it.

I decided to do a different type of card today than what I usually do. I have looked at this kind of card folding in my friend Marianne's blog, she's a big inspiration source! {hugs} I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and the sentiment is computer generated.

TIOT # 31 ~ Sweet Susan

♥

Last week I was a terrible blogger, only one card posted...
We went on a small vacation trip, so I was away from all my darling stamps, papers and stash. Came home on Sunday evening, and yesterday I made this card for today's TIOT challenge over at SCACD.
It's a color challenge this time; black, pink and yellow. At first I thought this would be quite a challenge, but I think it turned out all right.

I used the sweet Susan from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, she's got black hair and a pink and yellow outfit this time, colored with Prismacolor pencils. I love these Prima Dandies, used QuicKutz swirls and words, added Kaisercraft pearls to finish it.

On the company blog Follow Your Heart you can see all the wonderful cards by the rest of the DT ladies!

TIOT # 30 ~ Lovely Spunkette

♥
A new Try It Out Tuesday it is for the design team at SCACD, today we have a wonderful sketch to follow, made by our great team leader Suzanne.

I chose to use the beautiful Spunkette by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD on my card, this time I masked her wings off, to fit the sketch better. Colored her with my Prismacolor pencils, and cut her out with Nestabilities dies. I stamped, colored and cut the flower and put it on pop dots.

I now think I know why I don't do so much layering of different patterned papers on my cards, I spend way to much time trying to find the perfect color and pattern matches, and sometimes I just can't find it!
But here I was lucky enough to have a pile of BasicGrey paper pads to look trough, so I did pretty well, I think. Smiley from millan.net (The background pp is from the June Bug pad.)
For corner decoration I used a Cuttlebug die. I used Scrapper's Floss on the buttons.

On the company blog Follow Your Heart you can see all the wonderful cards by the rest of the DT ladies!
♥

Susana is sponsoring a fun "Scavenger Hunt" blog candy starting at the "Fans of Karen Lockhart" PCP group & ending at the store blog where you can win 3 hand-colored Lockhart stamps (the 3 patio pot stamps) & a pack of BasicGrey paper!
You have until Saturday, August 8th at midnight (EST) to leave your answers & winner will be announced on Sunday morning! Good Luck!
